The Texas Heritage Project of AITSCM, founded in 2014, conducts humanities-based primary research to assemble never-before-made public family artifacts of historical significance to the South-Central Texas region.
To develop the archive/repository, the Project holds community-based events called "History Harvests" during which families gather to display their family's artifacts. These artifacts are digitized and held for public access at Texas A&M University - San Antonio.
Alamo Press is an award winning publisher founded in 2008 by historian Art Martinez de Vara. Alamo Press publishes non-fiction works of history, culture and genealogy for those who love Texas and its rich heritage. Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts for consideration.
In 2017 Alamo Press partnered with Northwest Vista College to facilitate the publication of books in the area of study under the series title “Northwest Vista College Series on Texas History.” NVC faculty set and maintain the academic stantards for works published under the series.
Los Alcaldes de Béxar Project advocates for the Hispanic legacy in Texas by ensuring the stories of Texas' first alcaldes are chronicled in Texas history.
The project is producing a forensic portrait series of the alcaldes (mayors) that served the town of Béxar from 1731-1836, performs archival research to generate a canonical list of alcaldes and to research and publish biographical sketches of each alcalde.
The association was formed in 2008 to preserve the historical cemetery Ruiz-Herrera Cemetery in Von Ormy, Texas. The cemetery was established in the 1840s and is still used by the founding families.
Graves include those of Texas Patriots, Francisco Antonio Ruiz, whose father, Jose Francisco Ruiz and cousin, Jose Antonio Navarro signed the Texas Declaration of Independence, and Blas M. Herrera, soldier and scout who is considered the, Paul Revere of the Texas Revolution
